USAF (Retired), currently chair of the board of directors of the Stimson Center, is a retired fourstar general who served 39 years in the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 2017 as commander of U.S. Air Combat Command and was
president and chief executive officer of the National Defense Industrial Association prior to joining the Stimson Center.
