The U.S. Navy faces challenges not seen since the prelude to World War II. Increasing demands have depleted the fleet鈥檚 readiness, and tight budgets constrain the Navy鈥檚 ability to build the next-generation capabilities needed to counter great power opponents China and Russia. Meanwhile, Moscow and Beijing continue their programs of coercion and gray-zone aggression against U.S. allies and partners. Regaining a maritime advantage will require creativity, resolve, and leadership from the Pentagon and Congress. Please join 华体会 Senior Fellow Bryan Clark for a conversation on these pressing issues with Congresswoman Elaine Luria, Vice Chair of the House Armed Services Committee and a retired Navy commander.
