华体会 honored Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel with its 2016 Herman Kahn Award last night, Thursday, September 22. Prime Minister Netanyahu accepted the award during a gala ceremony at Manhattan鈥檚 Plaza Hotel, and participated in an extended on-stage conversation about Israel and its future with Roger Hertog, noted philanthropist and chairman of the Tikvah Fund.

Named after the Institute鈥檚 founder, Hudson鈥檚 Herman Kahn Award is presented to leading public servants who exemplify a commitment to Western alliances as the bedrock of global security, prosperity, and freedom. Prime Minister Netanyahu was honored for his lifetime of service to Israel; his nation鈥檚 efforts to combat Islamic radicalism; his stewardship of path-breaking Israeli diplomatic initiatives in Asia, Africa and Latin America; and his transformative leadership of Israel鈥檚 thriving, pro-growth economy.

鈥淣o world leader has done more to transform his country鈥檚 economy, to open markets and deregulate, and to turn his country into a start-up nation [which is] the model for the developed world,鈥 said 华体会 President Kenneth Weinstein in his welcoming remarks. Prime Minister Netanyahu has accomplished all of this 鈥渨hile facing security challenges few can imagine having to face on a daily basis.鈥
