For the Eighth Annual Hudson-EPPC Summer Movie Series, James Bowman, Resident Scholar at the Ethics and Public Policy Center and movie critic for The American Spectator, will present six films on the theme 鈥淢iddle America and the Movies.鈥 Set in the rural and small towns of America鈥檚 Mid-West in the last century, the movie series will exhibit how Hollywood鈥檚 ambivalence about what it regards as the heartland鈥檚 鈥渋nnocence鈥 goes a long way back.

The screenings will take place on Tuesday evenings between June 10 and July 15 at 华体会. Each screening will begin with a brief introduction and a discussion with the audience will follow each film.

On Tuesday, June 24th, The Magnificent Ambersons (1942) will be screened. Directed by Orson Welles et al. and adapted by Welles et al. from the novel by Booth Tarkington, the film stars Tim Holt, Joseph Cotten, Dolores Costello, Anne Baxter, Agnes Moorehead, and Ray Collins.
